AWAKENING THE VISION OF THE RURAL PEOPLE

The hunger for a plate of food can make a virgin become a prostitute over-night, a principled person become a thief and even a man of ideas to become a fool.  The  need for food has driven most people at the rural areas to the point where they have lost faith in themselves.  Parents struggle daily to provide for their children without success as they try to find the push to go on living with the resultant effect of producing more children because hunger and ignorant are like twins.

In moments like this, how can we awaken that bold vision that is domiciled in every human being that is waiting to have an expression.  How can we make the rural people discover that they are worth more than they are right now?  That there is something deposited  in their inside that is crying out for an expression in the midst of their hunger and poverty that needs to be expressed.  How do you make a man who has lost faith in life and himself to believe that he has what it takes to rule the world?  How can one even believe that he is endowed with gifts and talents when he has become too downcast to care.

To awaken the bold vision of the rural people, we must

Encourage and celebrate their work:  Majority of the rural populace are subsistence farmers without any technological know-how in farming processes.  Therefore, they farm and consume almost immediately without knowing how to preserve for the rainy days ahead.
Equip/Relate to them positively :  To be rural is not a curse. One does not choose where one should come from or whose parents one will have on earth.  Its important that although most of our rural people are poor and illiterate, the government, agencies and the world in general must have such programmes that can help them to interact with the global world meaningfully and successfully.
Awakening their visions:  This can be done by financing and celebrating their skills and talents.  Most persons at the rural areas are simply untapped resources compared to what is seen in most professions.  When they see one of their own encouraged and celebrated, it becomes a motivating factor to keep the fire of their vision going irrespective of the hunger faced.

Permission to learn from mistakes: People should be allowed to make mistakes and learn from them without so much criticism including the rural people.

We ask all agencies whose plan and strategy is to make the world better to invest, help and commit to the development of our rural people because a mans' ignorance can be the doom of the whole world.
